After I stitched up a SpriteStitch banner cross stitch I started getting more and more involved in the SpriteStitch community. One part of that was their monthly challenges, where they’d give you a theme, and you had to stitch something up. The forum members would pick a winner.
 
For the theme of the month I picked, it was “Anti-Valentine/Unlikely Partnership”. I found this rather interesting, as video games are full of the hero/villain trope, and I thought, what better than the oldest forlorn couple? I sadly didn’t win, but I came 5th out of 12, so I did well.
 
This wasn’t the only SpriteStitch competition I entered though, in fact, I won with my Pokemon quote cross stitch three months later.
