I tend to not revist patterns I’ve already done, in fact, other than my lightsaver blueprint cross stitch that later inspired a < href="https://lordlibidan.com/zf-1-blueprint-embroidery/">Fifth Element ZF-1 blueprint cross stitch and Saturn V blueprint cross stitch I’ve never revisited a pattern. In fact, it could be argued that those patterns only have a rough theme in common, as opposed to a revisit.

But then there is this pattern. I actually stitched it at the same time as another, the pokemon glyph cross stitch inspired by an ancient Mew playing card. However the reason I did two, was due to the failure of this cross stitch. Yes, I class it as a failure.

I saw an amazing Zelda inspired scroll by NurseTab on SpriteStitch, and I fell in love with the design. It just… worked. Using an ancient Mew card as my inspiration I took the back, the yellow part of the pattern and my intention was to graft it onto the scroll.

But it didn’t really work. Unlike NurseTab I chose to cross stitch onto black aida and the black started coming through the pale scroll color. This ruined the overall look.
Another failure on my part is that I didn’t take into account the yellow being on peach which barely stands out at all.
