This was actually a test I’ve had planned for just over a year. The sprite has been split into multiple levels and stitched on plastic canvas on top of each other, making the sprite look like it’s coming out of the page, and that the perspective is correct.
Whilst it does work, I think scaling up of this idea would not.
The sprite was a combination of Pokemon Red/Blue and Gold/Silver main characters.
