When someone in the SpriteStitch forum suggested the idea of a cross stitch for charity event, the reception was huge. After some initial ideas we decided on a quilt that would be made up of 20 cross stitch pieces. This would then be sold at the Child’s Play Charity auction, who give video games to terminally ill children.

I quickly came up with the idea of doing a screenshot from the Dig Dug game, as my recent soils of Dig Dug cross stitch went down so well. However unlike that one, or any other cross stitch up to this point, I had to stitch on 16 count. It was my first time changing the count, and honestly, it scared me, but when I started stitching I fell in love and since then have mostly stitched on other counts than 14.

I finished the piece, and whilst I was sad to see it go, I was proud to be part of the Childs Play Charity Quilt and happy that the final piece got over $2000 for the charity! I had actually planned to do another panel for the quilt but all that yellow took longer than I estimated and I had to give the idea up, although it later turned into my Pokemon Home Sweet Home cross stitch.
