Were the colors used for the Excel sheet determined any specific way or just chosen based on resemblance? Asking since I’ve been looking around for something I can use to convert hex values to DMC colors for digital art to cross stitch conversions, but it seems as though DMC doesn’t actually give any information about their hues. There are hex-to-DMC conversions online but they aren’t always accurate and there seems to be no “standard” or “official” color conversion method/chart.
Yeh, there is no standard sadly. But DMC produced a printed color card, and we used a color matching device to pull out the RGB codes. These are the colors we used in the sheets.

do you have the color names used on the DMC website in another version of the file? I would attempt to do this myself, but I’m no good with Excel haha

I’m afraid DMC is super inconsistent at naming threads! So there isn’t an official list or one they regularly use. The last one they used was a pdf from 2018, but they’ve used different names on other channels (social media) since then!
I recently purchased a mixed bag of DMC threads and amongst them where colours L223,L225,L415,L435,L452,L833,L967 and L3861. I cannot find these numbers on a chart,do you know what they are? They feel different to the normal DMC.
They are DMC, but they are different!
That whole series was part of the failed DMC experiment into linen threads.
