DMC Thread Inventory Spreadsheet – Updated

Everyone loves a good collection of threads, but unless you have the whole set of DMC threads you’re going to need a way to keep track of what you have, and haven’t got. That’s why we created this awesome colored spreadsheet of all standard, metallic, variations, variegated, Coloris and Étoile 6 strand DMC threads, so you can keep track.

Just click the link or image and save the spreadsheet. You can access it on your computer, phone, or put it through googledocs!

Many thanks for this, we had an older 1986 edition of the DMC thread card and wife is sorting and bobbin winding.
We also picked up a lot of old threads at auction which we think were American Thread Co. but no bands, they were all numbered on card, and I have tried to match as best I can to the DMC numbers. Would anyone have a chart of their numbers/colours.
Once again many thanks for your charts and XL spreadsheet.

      Hi there,
I’m afraid the American Thread Comapny went out of buisness in the early 70s, so I don’t think there is a thread card. Sorry I couldn’t help you more!

    Terrific! Thanks so much.

Is this colour chart available to print out?

      Hi,
You can print this out landscape or portrait from within excel. I do that myself actually!

    Thank you!
Downloaded, added sheets, sorted, fiddled, had fun. Found glitches, because even proofreaders need proofreaders. As a button of mine says, “Prooffreading at its best”.

I made these corrections to my copy of your fabulous spreadsheet:

150  Dusty Rose, Ultra Very Dark
    156  Blue Violet, Medium Light
    157  Cornflower Blue, Light
158  Cornflower, Blue, Medium Very Dark
    163  Celadon Green, Medium
    164  Forest Green, Light
    165  Moss Green, Very Light
    311  Navy Blue, Medium
    322  Baby Blue, Dark Dark
    327  Violet, Dark Dark
    336  Navy Blue
    823  Navy Blue, Dark
    939  Navy Blue, Very Dark
    3755   Baby Blue
3756  Baby Blue, Ultra Very Light

868 Hazel Nut Brown seems to have been discontinued, replaced by 3828.

      Hey!
DMC never actually names their colors, so all the names you see online are made up, however I like a few of those so I’ll combine them in the spreadsheet.
In regards to 868, there were a whole set of discontinued threads (504, 731, 776, 781, 971, 806, 868, 3773) that are on the spreadsheet as many people still have them in their stock.
