It’s somewhat obvious that I’m a Pokemon fan as per my other cross stitches. I was around during the big Pokemon crazes of the 90s, when as a kid we couldn’t get enough Pokemon in our lives. This also extended to Pokemon cards. And whilst they were banned in my school after someone stole a shiny Charizard, I still held onto my cards for years to come. OK, decades.

However one of my most prized, and still for that matter, was the free ancient Mew Pokemon card given away when you saw the first movie in cinemas. To me, it was amazing, and unlike the backs of the other cards, I loved how the different colors, representing the different energy cards, merged together into one.

Fast forward a decade, and I found it again. I had it hanging around, waiting to be stitched for a while, but it was only when a pattern by NurseTab caught my attention that I decided to stitch it. Unlike her pattern, however, mine didn’t really work, and whilst I used the Pokemon card back on my Pokemon scroll cross stitch, I really wanted to make sure the yellow pattern was more visible. So I stitched up one with the scroll.
