I just fell in love with this pattern as soon as I saw it. Its simplicity, and how it looks back at the traditional home sweet home sampler (Which before this I hadn’t yet done) plays on the pallet town Pokemon reference. To me, it was everything. Up to this point I had stitched loads of Pokemon things before, and not cross stitching a sampler was basically sacrilege.

Therefore, I knew I had to stitch it. Thankfully as it wasn’t a big project, it wouldn’t take too long too. But that didn’t help me as I managed to delay finishing it by starting to stitch my Pokemon Christmas bauble cross stitches half way through (in order to hit the Christmas deadline). However, I finally finished, and I’m glad to say, I loved it. Unlike the original pattern that called for leaving the white bits blank, I chose to stitch them, and loved how it turned out, in future I’ll do the same.

You can download the home sweet home pokemon cross stitch pattern for free too. Since then it’s been completed by loads of others who have put their own spin on it too:
