Title: Dig-Dug Charity Square
Date Completed: May 2011
Design: Lord Libidan
Count: 16
Canvas: White
Colours: 15
Video Game: Dig Dug

This was my first non-14 count piece, and I’m considering doing all of my future stitches in 16 count. It’s a square to go into a big quilt which will be sold off for the Child’s Play charity done on sprite stitch, giving terminally ill children video games. I will also be doing a fire n ice stitch, but I might change the game…

The Soils Of Dig Dug Cross Stitch

Soils of Dig Dug
Title: The Soils Of Dig Dug
Date Completed: February 2011
Design: Lord Libidan
Count: 14
Canvas: Black
Colours: 12
Video Game: Dig Dug

I did soil science at uni, and saw old school posters about soil all the time, and I wanted to really capture that, but with Dig Dug. It came out exactly how I wanted it to, but it only really makes any sense to me 😛 Although that didn’t stop it getting its own post on Mr X Stitch: Link

Retro Video Game Trio Cross Stitch

Retro Trio
Title: Retro Video Game Trio
Date Completed: February 2010
Design: Lord Libidan
Count: 14
Canvas: Black
Colours: 7
Video Game: Pacman, Space Invaders & Dig Dug

I sort of fell upon this idea by accident, after my last stitch, but apparently quite a few people like it, so I can’t complain 😛 After my Space Invader Pacman Ghostbuster cross stitch I realised just how similar in size the sprites were. Up to this point I’d put all of my own patterns on one file, and so I had a lot of sprites mixed together. I started splitting them out, and after realising that my future Fire n Ice cross stitch project wasn’t the same size of the others, I started trying random other games. In the end I picked by three favorite 8 bit games.

I was planning on doing another for different games originally, I planned for Galactican, Racer X and Asteroids, however after making the pattern, and coming up with loads of other options, I never got around to stitching it. However, I did make the retro 8bit cross stitch pattern avalible with over 50 different combinations.
