Space Invader School Cross Stitch

I can’t tell you how many people have requested this pattern; its franky shocking. However I used to sell it, but I’ve decided to help out the video game cross stitch community with this awesome space invader simple plan school cross stitch pattern.
It was also one of the first patterns I ever made… Oh the memories!

In the past I’ve created cross stitches I wanted, however I was recently contacted by SuckUK and they offered me a chance to stitch on their new world map aida in 11 count. I loved the idea of maps, I’ve even created a Pokemon map cross stitch in the past.

However, for a world map, I knew there was one thing I wanted. A planet invasion plan. In my head it was a follow on from my Space Invaders Simple Plan Cross stitch. It features various enemies of the 8bit era space arcade game franchises.

This is based on a tshirt on threadless called “A Simple Plan” which is one of their best sellers, I changed the sprites to be correct (As I’m not selling it I don’t have to bother with copywrite laws :D) and so the colours pop out. Currently hanging on my wall.
It was also posted up on Mr X Stitch: Link

I sort of fell upon this idea by accident, after my last stitch, but apparently quite a few people like it, so I can’t complain 😛 After my Space Invader Pacman Ghostbuster cross stitch I realised just how similar in size the sprites were. Up to this point I’d put all of my own patterns on one file, and so I had a lot of sprites mixed together. I started splitting them out, and after realising that my future Fire n Ice cross stitch project wasn’t the same size of the others, I started trying random other games. In the end I picked by three favorite 8 bit games.

I was planning on doing another for different games originally, I planned for Galactican, Racer X and Asteroids, however after making the pattern, and coming up with loads of other options, I never got around to stitching it. However, I did make the retro 8bit cross stitch pattern avalible with over 50 different combinations.
