For my fifth self patterned cross stitch I chose something retro-futuristic. This was a major passion of mine at the time, well before the general positive attitude to the aesthetic we’re seeing in 2019. As a result, there was basically nothing I could use to draw inspiration from. It took some time before I finally settled on a pattern, being the largest I had done at the time, I finally got involved in cross stitch pattern software. I learned a lot, and frankly, it’s a pattern I no longer like that much, but it gave me a lot of knowledge that helped me become the designer I am today.
 
Interestingly, it took me another 7 years before I stitched another non-video game project, and it was my Saturn V blueprint cross stitch, another rocket!
