i’m going to attempt to sew this as a present for my boyfriend – i don’t really know that much about pokemon, but could you tell me what the difference is between the normal and the extended pattern?
The “normal” version has edges that cut off some parts of the pokemon, making a full rectangle packed with pokemon!
The extended version adds a few inches of stitches around the edges to allow for the full pokemon to be seen. There’s a lot more background to stitch with the extended version!
Hi! I’m planning on making the Color Extended Size Generation 1 pattern and I have a few questions!
1. What size needle should I use for 18 ct.
2. Do I use 2 strands?
3. What size cloth do I need?
Thank you!
Hey!
We’d suggest using a size 28 needle, but size 26 would work too.
Yes, we’d use 2 stands with 18 count.
The stitched size is 14.2″ x 25″ or 36.1cm x 63.5cm, I would suggest at least 2-3 inches extra on every side, so I would suggest at least 20″ x 30″
Hi. Maybe this has been asked before but I’m trying to determine the size of cloth to buy for these. For example, the gen 1 file has a width of 256 stitches, which for 18 count fabric should be about 14.2 inches, or about 36 cm if my math is correct, but the dimensions listed on the pattern are double this value. Is this an error or is my interpretation incorrect. Thanks!
The details on generation 1’s pattern are incorrect. The pattern is 256 stitches wide by 450 stitches tall.
On 14 Count: 18.3″ x 32.1″ or 46.4cm x 81.6cm
On 18 Count: 14.2″ x 25″ or 36.1cm x 63.5cm
Sorry to ask so many questions, but in the gen 1 pattern I noticed that 5200 white wasn’t in the colour list and I saw some blank squares in the pattern with no symbols. Are these meant to be white? Thanks!
No problem, happy to help!
Yes, those white squares are meant to be B5200! Some programs don’t display them, but some do (we’re not quite sure why!)
Thank you for posting the measurements for Gen 1! I have been trying to get started on the pattern and kept getting confused about which were the correct dimensions :).
Are there plans to add Hisuian versions of pokemon?
We’re unsure what the plans are for the new game and its Pokemon, to be honest. However, we won’t be editing the current versions.
That means we might make a ‘legends’ specific pattern, or add these Pokemon into the next generation pattern, or we might even skip them out, depending on if this is the last legends game, and people class them as not being part of the new generation…
Which size aida is best to use? I’m a little confused because I was about to start the extended Gen 1 pattern but the pdf states 18ct/in but here on the website it says 14ct? I bought a giant piece of 18ct aida so now I’m wondering if I should order a 14ct instead?
Hey!
It’s up to you really. 18 count will be smaller but will look more solid. 14 count is larger, but you may see some of the aida through the stitches. I personally like 16 count as its a mix between the two, but most stitch this on 14 count.
Have some patterns been removed? I downloaded a gen 1 pattern that only has 26 colours and I can’t seem to find it now and needed the b&w version
We removed some of the patterns when we updated them, but we still have the old ones.
Do you remember when you downloaded the original file?
