Are these cross stitch alphabets really free?
Yes. Every alphabet on this page is free to download and use. The only paid option is if you want the fonts installed directly into WinStitch or MacStitch for use in their pattern generator, that’s a separate, optional purchase and isn’t required to use the alphabets themselves.
Can I use these alphabet patterns for commercial projects?
Yes, they’re free for commercial use too. The only ask is that you get in touch first if you plan to sell items or patterns that use them, just so I know how they’re being used.
Did you design all of these alphabets yourself?
Yes, all 53 alphabets were designed here at Lord Libidan specifically for cross stitch, which is why they’re already gridded and ready to stitch rather than adapted from a regular font.
Can I get these fonts inside WinStitch or MacStitch?
Yes, the fonts are available as an add-on for WinStitch and MacStitch, so you can type directly into your pattern software instead of copying stitches by hand from the images below.

I paid for the fonts and added them to my winstitch but – The font I wanted specifically didn’t download. You have 11 8pt fonts above but only 10 were included in the download.

It doesn’t say “some” of them. It implies that you get them all. However, on the order page it says there are 35 fonts included, while there are 53 “below”. While I appreciate the access to them via your website, I guess I should have read the fine print. I would not have purchased them if I didn’t believe it included all of them.

That paid link is only if you want to add the fonts into WinStitch or MacStitch. Use of the fonts themselves are free!
