It’s weird to think that I’ve not stitched a Japanese woodblock print since my snow at guest house on ponds edge, back in 2023. But when I first moved to my new house, I planned out a wall of cross stitch, and this is the final piece to be completed for it.
It only took me 10 years!
This is the final work of 4, detailing all four seasons. This one is obviously Autumn, Snow At Guest House was Winter, Hot Spring Resort in Arayu was summer, and finally Spring In Daigoji Temple was Spring.
Interestingly, despite the four seasons, they are split on the wall, with two other Japanese-inspired prints, of the Pokemon Great Wave, and Moon Light In Yasaka Pagoda (which I own the original of). Which is particularly noteworthy as the artist behind that woodblock, Asano Takeji, is the same as the one behind Autumn at Kiyomizu Temple.

I think I do still have one Japanese print I’m interested in stitching up, but after that one, I’ll stick to smaller stitches, like my Miniature Spring In Daigoji Temple, which sits on my desk now.
Happy stitching,
Lord Libidan
