I just fell in love with this pattern as soon as I saw it. Its simplicity, and how it looks back at the traditional home sweet home sampler (Which before this I hadn’t yet done) plays on the pallet town Pokemon reference. To me, it was everything. Up to this point I had stitched loads of Pokemon things before, and not cross stitching a sampler was basically sacrilege.

Therefore, I knew I had to stitch it. Thankfully as it wasn’t a big project, it wouldn’t take too long too. But that didn’t help me as I managed to delay finishing it by starting to stitch my Pokemon Christmas bauble cross stitches half way through (in order to hit the Christmas deadline). However, I finally finished, and I’m glad to say, I loved it. Unlike the original pattern that called for leaving the white bits blank, I chose to stitch them, and loved how it turned out, in future I’ll do the same.

You can download the home sweet home pokemon cross stitch pattern for free too. Since then it’s been completed by loads of others who have put their own spin on it too:

With a transforming Optimus Prime cross stitch under my belt, and a Jetfire cross stitch too, my next big challenge was Soundwave. Unlike the other two however, Soundwave created his own list of problems; but there was one big one. The tapes.

To anyone unaware, Soundwave has a series of smaller transformers that fit into the cassette deck on his body. Making tapes shouldn’t be too hard, however, in order to keep Soundwave in scale to the others, it gave me very small tapes indeed. Before I could attempt the robot, I had to tackle the tapes first. So I picked Ratbat and Laserbeak.
I also intend to make the rest of his tapes; Buzzsaw, Rumble & Frenzy.

It turned out these worked perfectly! I was then able to create the 3D transforming cross stitch Soundwave, and these tapes fit perfectly.

It’s Christmas! I have fond memories of Christmas TV when I was a kid, and what really stands out was the Pokemon Christmas specials. I wanted to do something Christmasy and asked ristvak to do a few patterns for me, so I could make some cross stitch Pokemon baubles.

VIEW WITH RED/BLUE 3D GLASSES FOR FULL EFFECT!
After seeing a piece on Mr X Stitch I fell in love with the idea of doing a stereoscopic stitch. You have to wear red blue glasses to see the 3D, but hostly I think the image without is just a nice looking.

Child’s Play Charity Quilt Dig Dug Cross Stitch by Lord Libidan

Date Completed: May 2011
Design: Sprite Stitch
Count: 16
Video Games: Dig Dug, Phantasy Star, Legend Of Zelda, Earthbound, Final Fantasy VI, VIII & X, Plants vs Zombies, Kirby’s Adventure, Super Mario World, Dr. Mario, and Shining Force

It’s rare to be able to cross stitch something for charity, and so when someone on the Sprite Stitch forums offered the chance to do so, I jumped at it. Whilst I completed my Dig-Dug Charity Square Cross Stitch, unlike any other cross stitch I’ve done, that was only part of its journey. It went on to become part of a different thing; specifically a quilt.

A member of the cross stitch forum stitched each of the 20 cross stitched panels into a throw quilt, and sent it off to be auctioned a the Child’s Play Charity. This charity purchases and maintains play equipment, and especially video games, in children’s hospitals all over the world to bring joy to the lives of children that aren’t able to be at home.

Most of us thought it would only go for a small value, but the throw ended up going for over $2000!

The pattern is not my own.

When I first saw this t-shirt pattern I fell in love with it, so I just had to stitch it. I had to do a lot of work with the image to get it into a nice pattern, and then had to edit the image some more in order to get it looking right, but I kept the feel of the original by only putting 6 colors in it.

Colors: 4
Video Game: Assassin’s Creed

This was the main part of my swap gift for Sprite Stitch’s Swap 2011. My partner was riotpatch, and one of her favorite games was assassin’s creed. I love the series too but have never got around to stitching anything for it, so thought it would be a brilliant idea to do something related to them. I got playing with some ideas and decided I would try and hide a secret message in the poster (like the games do), so its the assassin’s logo, and in morse code is written “riotpatch”.

This was for another craft swap on Sprite Stitch, this one was for riotpatch! This was the secondary bit of my swap stuff, the other one was the Abstergo glow in the dark poster I did, but these were just for fun.
They are pins of Altair and Ezio from the assassin’s creed games, they’re about an inch high.

After doing my previous optimus prime cross stitch transformer, I wanted to continue the series. Many people related the Optimus Prime to a paper robot made by PaperRobots1999 (Sadly no longer active), however, they also had a few other photos of future projects which never happened due to the site closing. This was one of them, meaning I had to work out the pattern based off of a picture; for the first time ever.
Like optimus, its based on the original toy, so is a Macross VF-1S Valkyrie in generation 1 anime colors.

I have also made plans for a Soundwave cross stitch transformer which you can get on my etsy store.

If you look out for Cross Stitch Crazy Magazine, I will be published in their March issue!

You can buy this pattern on my Etsy shop and many other transformers, so go have a look! LINK
