When the XStitch Magazine came out with 70s and 80s issues; I got really excited! I knew the 90s shouldn’t be too far behind. So after a bit of bugging and pleading to the editor, Jamie finally agreed to a 90s issue!
So now I had my beloved decade immortalized in cross stitch magazine glory, what pattern to make?
Well, I spent the 90s clearing poop out on a robotic pet. Weirdly, that’s 100% true!
So to honor my misspent youth I decided to combine my Tamagotchi fandom, 90s neon patterns and my fan of tattoo cross stitches (including my Kitsune tattoo cross stitch for a different issue of the Xstitch Mag) into a 90s pattern to remember.
I wanted to keep the Tamagotchi itself fairly simple though, as one of the best things about Tamagotchis were how unique they all were (there were over 200 designs in the 90s alone!). This would allow anyone who stitches it to have the ability to change it up to their own choosing.
