When it comes to aida, I love bright and vibrant colors. In the past I’ve printed directly onto aida similar to how DMC have their own range of printed aida, but there are other options too. The most commonly found is painted aida, which I used in my recent Friends door cross stitch, but it’s straightforward to hand-dye aida.
So when I came across an idea that needed a super bold yellow aida, I just couldn’t find anything suitable, and had to take it into my own hands!
Hand dying aida is super easy and I’ve done it a few times before, but for any of you that aren’t sure, it’s as simple as chucking dye and salt in a bucket and throwing aida in! I would strongly recommend anyone give it a try at least once.
So, with yellow aida in my hands, I was finally able to get around to stitching something I had the idea for back in 2020, when the Cyberpunk 2077 game was delayed a few times with big and bright yellow splash screens.
This was in keeping with the theme of the original game, which had a lot of yellow and black (although the yellow was massively toned down in later releases of the game). So I wanted to create a keychain, similar to those “remove before use” ones you find on fancy flight jackets, but with the bold colors of Cyberpunk 2077!
I kept it to only two colours, and tried to vary the sides up a bit, with the name in either yellow or black depending on the side you’re looking at.
What do you think of my Cyberpunk 2077 keychain cross stitch? Would you use it?
Happy stitching,
Lord Libidan
