Finding the Color To Column Locator Table is awesome! It should have been included with the card!
Hello – I am looking for a DMC color chart that gives comparable colors by tone … for instance, I want to replace blue #996 with a purple in the same tone. How would I find that? Thank you
I’m afraid tones are mostly subjective, so there isn’t anything really offering that. I personally would go with 209 as a replacement, but it depends what the other colors in the pattern are.
You are a lifesaver, thank you so much! I created my first cross stitch pattern today. The next step is picking floss colors that match the art, and this is gonna make it a breeze. Much appreciated!
I have this handy little spreadsheet. I love it! I have it on my phone in Google Drive so I can update when in store. This one says updated. When was it updated? I have had mine for a few years – maybe 3-4.
Its gets updated a few times a year. I think there should be some fairly major changes since you downloaded it originally, so you may wish to update!
Is there a way to turn this list into a true gradient? I see it has color groups like mocha, beige, and grey organized from light to dark, but I’d LOVE to see a proper light-to-dark rainbow order. I know color placement can be subjective, but my ADHD is just craving a full gradient of all the pinks, reds, blues, greens, and so on—not just the sage and hunter greens for example. I want a complete light-to-dark spectrum in each color family!
Oooo, that would look nice. You could use our DMC inventory spreadsheet as a base!
I’d love to see that as well. I have yet to find anything online regarding such a light to dark color order. I’m currently working with the DMC list in Google Sheets and trying to manually put colors in LTD order but I’m not very good with hues/shades and haven’t made much progress.
Mary; Hi! In the past, I’ve searched things like “DMC red 321 spectrum” and looked though the images. It takes time, but has worked (so far). Good luck. -Cheryl
