With the DMC thread company being in operation for well over 270 years, it’s no wonder that they’ve had to discontinue a few threads. And whilst we’ve looked into the reasons DMC threads have been discontinued I couldn’t find a full list anywhere. So, please find the attached list, with replacements (if there is one):

    Dmc 710 is also discontinued, but I don’t know when. I would love to know if there is a replacement color as I really need it to finish a project.

      There was never a standard 6 strand DMc thread with the number 710 as far as we know.
      However there is a 710 for Eco Vita, and one for DMC wools.
      They are VERY different colors though.
      Eco Vita is a deep green, close to 6 strand DMC 501.
      DMC wool is a bright purple, close to 6 strand DMC 208.

      There’s never been a DMC 302 (that we know of) in a standard 6 strand thread. However there is a DMC 302 in the new Eco Vita range. The best color alternative would be 754, but 302 is a more peachy color in my mind.

      Yep! It was very short lived, and existed from 1959 to 1960-something.
      Very few examples still exist though.
      It shouldn’t be in any current charts though! There is a Luca-S 222. Could the chart be Luca-S colors?

    I acquired several bins of floss at an estate sale and have been organizing it. I started filling in your spreadsheet and came across one marked at 923. All I can find info about is Anchor 923, which is a green and this is a very dark blue. It’s not a mismarked 932 as this is a light blue. It also is darker than 924. Any ideas?

      Could it be DMC 823?
      This is a very dark black, and could easily have rubbed off part of the 8, or been written wrong?

    Has there ever been a dmc 999? I was looking in my box and have a 666 and 999 bobbin which look nearly identical. So my sticker pack either had two 666s or perhaps there was a wonky set of floss labels with 666 upside down? My floss ranges in age of ~1992 to current day and I bought my sticker pack in 2011 or so. No other stickers beyond black, white and ecru had duplicates so why did this red potentially get a duplicate sticker?

    (No bobbins with stickers have been acquired through pass the stash so two 666 stickers or a sticker for a color that doesn’t seem to exist came in my sticker pack.)

      No, I’m not aware of one. And if there was, it would have been prior to 1920. Very unlikely to have been included in a sticker pack I feel!
