I recently wrote about mini cross stitch designs, so its probably no surprise that I had a miniature cross stitch planned!
This one actually came about when a reader mentioned my miniature Pokemon card cross stitch and asked if I’d stitched any more miniature cross stitches after I won the cross stitcher of the year award back in 2019.
I actually had, most recently Spring In Daigoji Temple, stitched on 32 count. So when I got the urge to stitch another mini, I went straight to Japan!
In fact, I even picked the same artist, Asano Takeji, who created shin-hanga prints of Kurama temple MANY times.
For this stitch I decided on his 1958 print, which showed the temple in snow, which I felt was fitting for December.
I had initially decided to stitch the whole thing, similar to my Daigoji temple one, but I found a mini embroidery hoop online, and just knew I had to turn it into a cross stitch keychain!

It’s also not the first time that I’ve stitched this temple either. My Spring In Kurama Temple cross stitch was the same one, and from a very simliar angle, although that was thankfully on 16 count!
Have you ever stitched on something like 32 count? I would suggest a magnifier!
Happy stitching,
Lord Libidan
