I recently had to remove a stain on my cross stitch thanks to an over-eager chug on some pop. Therefore, cans have been on my mind lately. So when I was looking at my favorite online cross stitch stores and found a new way to show off completed cross stitch in the form of coasters, I knew I had to buy some.
However, they sat there. Whilst I knew I had to use them, I just didn’t have a good enough idea. Until I found out the theme of a future XStitch Magazine was going to be 80s, things started to come together!
The rounded lip of the new coasters I found gave me strong vibes of the top of a can, and it came together! I would create a set of coasters that look like the top of cans, and then place them in the can-like coasters to give an extra strong effect!
As it happened, I came up with a totally different idea for the 80s issue of the Xstitch Magazine, and so these found their way into the the mixtape issue that came afterwards.
