What do the symbols ^ and * on the color chart mean?

    1. LordLibidan

You can find a little legend at the bottom of the columns that include these symbols.
But ^ means hard to find threads. Depending on your country, these might be easy to get hold of, or impossible!
The * is only on two threads, Blanc and White. Once again, depending on your country you might find only one of these, or both of these. They are the same color, but labeled differently.

THIS IS AMAZING. Thank you so so so so so much for compiling this. It’s exactly what I’d hoped to find (and was ready to create myself but glad I don’t have to! haha) <3

Hi! Thanks for this amazing tool, it’s so helpful!

But I can’t seem to locate the Coloris and Etoile list in the excel. Can you let me know where to find it? Thanks!

      Hey!
On the “DMC Threads – By Number” sheet, they are in columns AZ to BC.
DMC classes both of these thread types as differnet to the standard list, so they aren’t on the “DMC Threads – By Number” as this copies the official DMC colorways.

    Hi,
I just discovered your site and want to thank you for all the free information and cross stitch patterns!
My sister also embroiders and over the years she’s created beautiful Christmas stockings for each family member. However she’s lost/misplaced the alphabet she uses (and doesn’t recall the name of it); we’ve both searched numerous websites in an attempt to find a copy. I looked at your “53 Free Cross Stitch Alphabets,” but her letters are 19 rows high. Is there any way I can send or attach a picture of one of her Christmas stockings so you can take a look at the letters and possibly identify the alphabet? Either way, thanks much!

      Hi Julie,
A large set of letters! Please drop me a photo by email and I’ll try to help how I can!

Thank you this is really useful to help keep track of threads bought as a gift towards someone else’s project(s) as well as for my own. I have adapted it a little bit to include qty needed columns for each project, and changed it to Google Sheets as not everyone in the family has Excel. If you want to see it please let me know and I will send the link.
