I sort of fell upon this idea by accident, after my last stitch, but apparently quite a few people like it, so I can’t complain 😛 After my Space Invader Pacman Ghostbuster cross stitch I realised just how similar in size the sprites were. Up to this point I’d put all of my own patterns on one file, and so I had a lot of sprites mixed together. I started splitting them out, and after realising that my future Fire n Ice cross stitch project wasn’t the same size of the others, I started trying random other games. In the end, I picked my three favorite 8-bit games.
 
I was planning on doing another for different games originally, I planned for Galactican, Racer X and Asteroids, however after making the pattern, and coming up with loads of other options, I never got around to stitching it. However, I did make the retro 8bit cross stitch pattern available with over 50 different combinations.
